My Latest Project

I have been working on this "idea" for Sophia's room since Homearama last year. Did anyone see the house with the pink and black bedroom? Well, I loved that room! I am big on coming up with all of these 'great' ideas but never executing them. This weekend I FINALLY got her walls painted! Below you will see the letters I made for her wall and her paintings. I also made some girly lampshades and am currently working on a rag quilt for her bed. The pressure is on to get that done now. Pete keeps asking me if I think she is a princess or something. She is my princess!!!

A Low Country Boil

Any Southerners out there? Have you ever been to a Low Country Boil?? Well, let me tell you... John and Mendy know how to put one on. Last night all the Coach Directors (from our preschool ministry at church) and their families went to the lake and followed an afternoon in the sand with a good ole Low Country Boil. For those of you who are not familiar with one - it is a "one pot dish" usually made up of seafood (we had yummy shrimp), sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. They cook it in a big boiling pot outside (aka turkey fryer) and then the unbelievable part to me........ they drain it and pour it out down a long table. It was a free for all!!! I strategically located myself across from the largest pile (hehe) with Connie on the other side and Denise to my left :-)! It was quite the experience. The kids enjoyed themselves and were quite impressed with the overall experience. Sophia was in pure heaven eating all the shrimp her little heart desired! Really no pressure for table etiquette here! What a great evening of laughs and fantastic food!

S'More Please.......

What a grand finale to a wonderful Anniversary week! I was only able to spend a day with my parents when we got back, but we made the best of it! After shopping, hitting the final day of strawberry picking, and curbside at Carrabbas (my children's favorite "fast" food) we ended the evening with a little fire and smores! We were all very sad to take my parents back to the airport this morning but know it will only be a few weeks before we meet them in Maine. This will be the first trip that we are back in Maine (our home state) together since my parents moved in 1992.

My husband rocks!!!!!

I just have to tell you all that I have the most amazing husband!! I was getting ready to leave for our day out and in he walked (from his "supposed" meeting) with my parents from Florida. He flew my mom and dad in to watch our munchkins for two nights/three days so we could leave town :-)! First of all let me just say.... I didn't have the slightest idea, not even the slightest - and I always figure out his surprises. I certainly was speechless!!
He told me to pack my suitcase and we left with the GPS programmed for what was a 4 1/2 hour trip. He would only give me hints along the way. I thought for sure it was somewhere in DC but after we hit DC we started heading West on 50. We ended up in a wonderful B&B in Annapolis, MD called The Inn at 30 Maryland. You are probably wondering why Annapolis? Pete didn't go to the Naval Academy. Well, Annapolis is so rich in history and is the most quaint little city (once the capital of our country). We parked our car for the stay and walked the beautiful brick walkways to everything. The tour of the Naval Academy was wonderful. We were amazed at the size of the "dormitory" (Bancroft Hall) that houses around 4400 midshipmen. The French Renaissance architecture was amazing!
We had a wonderful time eating at all the sidewalk cafes and drinking endless lattes while watching boaters parade their stuff down Ego Alley. If you haven't been, I recommend a stay in downtown Historic Annapolis!
My parents did an amazing job on the home front! The kids had a special treat having Grandma and Papa surprise them too! We barely got goodbyes out of them but the reunion again on Friday night was priceless! Thank you so much to my parents for dropping everything to come here for our special time and especially thank you to Pete for making our 20th Anniversary so memorable and such a special, relaxing time!!!

20 Amazing Years!!!

Today is our 20th Wedding Anniversary!!! We have a babysitter for the entire day. Not sure what my honey has planned for the whole day but just being together will be a special treat. We have had 20 exciting years together moving all over and have had opportunities and experiences some only dream of. Eleven of those years were spent just the two of us! Looking back on it - God's plan was remarkable. It was well worth the wait for our beautiful three children! Pete, I couldn't love you more - thank you for 20+ amazing, unbelievable years!! You truly do complete me!!!

Ok Natalie and Sue.... I am officially ready to enter the "blog" world!! You will have to teach me the lingo. I don't know if I can keep up with you girls, but I will certainly try my very best! Time flies by too quickly and I have decided to just make the time since it is not going to slow down for me to catch up!! My three will be in college before that happens. Well this is my first official post. It is 9:50 and I am still in my pajamas on a beautiful Monday morning. Oh.... did I mention my poor kids haven't eaten breakfast yet either??!! Oh well, my first post is complete :-)
